Today I met a four year girl who was being raised by her father. Her mother abandon them after realizing she didn’t want a family anymore. As the father was adjusting his daughter’s headband, he pretended to lick his hands to help smooth her hair. That caused her to giggle uncontrollably. As I stood there analyzing their relationship, I couldn’t deny how much he loved her. Although she did not have a mother that loved her enough to stick around, she had a father that adores her. His smile was instantly brighten as she walked in the room.
After seeing them together, I automatically thought about God. All the sudden, everyone that had walked out on me didn’t matter because I have a father who loves me unconditionally. I was able to fully appreciate my relationship with God knowing that having him is worth than anything this earth has to offer. To know that the Lord of Lords and King of Kings calls me by name and protects me, is a blessing larger than I deserve . To have Jesus as my treasure gives me something that no one can take away. I am walking with God, who else could ever satisfy my heart?

please also take a moment to read about amaria diljohn, the fourteen-year-old black girl who was murdered in toronto yesterday when a public city bus driver ran over her and drove off, leaving her on the road. the driver has not been charged. please spread this. please talk about this. i know canadian issues aren’t often widely discussed on tumblr, but it’s important that this becomes widely known so the driver is brought to justice.
